The Hook

The Demogorgon killed all she loved. Now, she is hellbent on revenge, and to do that she must become a god. Using her powers to escape the Abyss, she quickly enslaved a small tribe of Kuo-toa to help her gain her godhood. They raid underwater and coastal cities for materials to build her temple and finish the ritual needed to ascend.

Inspiration to Draw on

Merrow are evil creatures, self-serving, and not too bright so this Merrow will probably do anything she can to gain the power she thinks is attainable. The Kuo-tao are key to her potential success as their collective belief has the power to manifest in was like creating gods. The dynamic between the Merrow and the Kou-toa would probably be tenuous as the Merrow balances using her bipedal “slave“ in a way that servers her but at the same time the Kuo-toa would probably need to feel as if this Merrow is their protector. They must reverie the Merrow, feel safe around her, else they may conjure something that would protect them. This would be perfect for an adventure that begins in a coastal city, one that is actively being raided.
