Inspiration to Draw on

Basic lore around a Wight, is it tends to be a reanimated person with a specific purpose. You can see this in pop culture D&D lore with Zaknafein Do'Urden in Exile by R.A Salvatore. These tend to be a means to an end. It can also be a way fro a person in their dying moments pledge their services to powerful god-like entities to further their cause. Much like a Revenant. In this cause though, they tend to be more puppets than anything. Where a Revenant is driven by hate of a single person or cause, the Wight tends to be a weapon wielded as a means to an end. This can lead to great plot threads like topping Kingdoms or taking out a party that has become too powerful for a certain entities liking. Wights can be used as fun first tier Generals for mobs or they can be used as Antagonists that drive the party in to the second tier of play. You can use them as a gorilla antagonist that shows up and nearly kills the party. Then, as they are ready to step into tier two, the party meets the Wight for the last time giving them some catharsis of the issues jabbing at them as they unknowingly enter a larger world of problems.
